- Quoad Sacra Parish (a quoad sacra parish is one created and functioning for ecclesiastical purposes only)
- School Board District
- Parliamentary Burgh
- Royal Burgh
- Police Burgh
- Town, village or hamlet
- Reoad, street and number or name of house
- Inhabited and uninhabited houses and buildings
- Full name of each person
- Relationship to the head of family
- Marital condition of each person
- Age
- Gender
- Rank, profession, or occupation
- Birthplace of each person
- Whether deaf and dumb, blind, imbecile or idiot, or lunatic
- Number of rooms with one or more windows
